cis men
Males assigned male
Cis men are men whose gender identity matches the male sex they were assigned at birth—the cis- prefix (from Latin "on the same side") contrasting with trans-.
The term emerged in gender studies and LGBTQ discourse to name what had previously been the unnamed default: Cis men don't have to think about which bathroom to use.
Some find the label unnecessary or object to having a term applied to them; others see it as simply descriptive.
