cis women
Non-transgender females
Cis women are women whose gender identity matches the female sex they were assigned at birth—the *cis* prefix (from Latin "on the same side") distinguishes them from trans women.
The term emerged alongside increased visibility of transgender people and appears mainly in contexts where the distinction matters: The study compared health outcomes for cis women and trans women.
Outside such contexts, most cis women simply call themselves women.
