Transformations are changes in form, appearance, nature, or character.
The word implies substantial change rather than minor adjustment: The city has undergone a remarkable transformation.
In mathematics, a transformation is an operation that changes a figure's position, size, or shape.
In biology, it describes cells acquiring new genetic material.
The singular transformation covers both the process and the result.
