torpedo room
Naval armament storage
The torpedo room is the compartment in a submarine where torpedoes are stored, loaded, and launched.
It typically occupies the forward section of the vessel, housing torpedo tubes and the machinery for loading these weapons: The crew scrambled to the torpedo room when the captain ordered battle stations.
In older submarines, sailors often slept among the torpedoes due to limited space.
