watertight door
Flood-proof ship entrance
A watertight door is a door designed to prevent water from passing through when closed, used on ships and submarines to seal compartments and contain flooding.
If one section of a hull is breached, watertight doors isolate the damage: The captain ordered all watertight doors sealed.
They're also found in flood-prone buildings and tunnels.
