tins

Biscuit storage vessels

Tins is the plural of tin—metal containers, especially for food: rows of tins on the pantry shelf, tins of sardines.

More common in British than American English, where cans predominates.

Tins also names shallow metal baking pans: muffin tins, cake tins.

As a verb form, tins means coats with tin or preserves in tins.
