yellowtail
Prized game fish
Yellowtail refers to several species of fish with yellow tail fins, most commonly the Japanese amberjack prized in sushi restaurants: The yellowtail sashimi was incredibly fresh.
In American waters, yellowtail usually means the California yellowtail, a popular game fish.
The name also applies to certain snappers and flounders with similar coloring.
