tee box

Driver's launching ground

The tee box is the designated area on a golf course where players begin each hole.

Also called the teeing ground, it's a flat, often slightly elevated rectangle marked by tee markers indicating where players may place their ball: She stepped up to the tee box and drove the ball 250 yards down the fairway.
