pace of play
How fast played
Pace of play is how quickly a game or match proceeds.
The term appears most often in golf, where slow pace of play frustrates players waiting behind slower groups, and in baseball, where efforts to speed up the game have led to pitch clocks and other rule changes.
The course marshal warned us about pace of play.
