subfolders
Directories within directories
Subfolders are folders contained within other folders, creating a hierarchical structure for organizing files on a computer.
The term emphasizes the nested relationship: a subfolder sits one level down from its parent folder.
I keep all my receipts in subfolders organized by year.
Also called subdirectories.
