stressors
Sources of tension
Stressors are things that cause stress—factors or conditions that place demands on a person's physical or psychological resources.
The term appears most often in clinical and academic contexts: Common stressors include work deadlines, financial problems, and relationship conflicts.
A single stressor is one such factor: Moving to a new city was a major stressor for her.
