Urban navigation aid
A street map is a diagram showing the roads and streets of a city or area, typically including names and relative positions.
Unlike topographic maps, street maps focus on navigation through urban areas: I grabbed a street map of downtown, The street map showed a shortcut through the neighborhood.
Now largely replaced by digital navigation apps.
