storage battery
Power reservoir device
A storage battery is a rechargeable battery—one that can be discharged and recharged repeatedly by reversing the chemical reactions inside it.
Car batteries are storage batteries, as are the lithium-ion cells in phones and laptops.
The term distinguishes rechargeable batteries from primary batteries, which are used once and discarded.
