petrol pump

Gas station equipment

A petrol pump is a British term for a device that dispenses fuel into vehicles at a filling station—what Americans call a gas pump.

The term can also refer to the station itself: There's a petrol pump just down the road.

The mechanical pump that moves fuel within an engine is also called a petrol pump.
