spinosaur

Fish-eating sailed theropod

A spinosaur is a large carnivorous dinosaur of a family characterized by elongated crocodile-like snouts and, in some species, dramatic sail-like spines along the back.

The group includes Spinosaurus, among the largest known land predators.

Spinosaurs appear to have been semiaquatic, hunting fish and other prey in and around water: The spinosaur's conical teeth were adapted for gripping slippery fish.
