speargun

Diver's hunting tool

A speargun is an underwater weapon that fires a spear or harpoon, used for spearfishing.

Most spearguns use rubber bands or compressed air to propel the shaft.

The spear typically has a barbed tip and remains attached to the gun by a line: He loaded his speargun and dove toward the reef.
