solder joint
Fused wire junction
A solder joint is a connection between metal components created by melting solder—a fusible alloy—to bond them together.
The term appears most often in electronics, where solder joints connect wires and components to circuit boards: a cold solder joint describes a faulty connection that didn't flow properly.
Good solder joints are shiny and smooth; bad ones cause electrical failures.
