banana plug
Spring-loaded electrical connector
A banana plug is a single-wire electrical connector with a spring-loaded metal tip that bulges slightly, resembling a banana's curve.
The shape allows secure insertion into matching jacks while permitting easy disconnection.
Banana plugs are standard in audio equipment, test instruments, and laboratory power supplies: I connected the speaker wire with banana plugs.
