skydive
Jump from aircraft
Skydive is to jump from an aircraft and free-fall through the air before deploying a parachute.
The activity combines the thrill of falling at terminal velocity with the controlled descent under canopy.
Most skydivers jump from around 10,000 to 15,000 feet, enjoying roughly a minute of free fall before pulling their chute.
I've always wanted to skydive but never worked up the nerve.
The noun skydive refers to an instance of the activity.
