landing area
Where planes arrive
A landing area is a designated space where aircraft touch down—runways, helipads, or cleared fields for emergency landings.
The term extends to any zone intended for arrival: a skydiver's landing area, a spacecraft's target zone, or in golf, the section of fairway where a well-hit drive should come to rest.
