dive-bombing
Steep attack descent
Dive-bombing is an aerial attack technique where a plane descends steeply toward its target before releasing bombs, achieving greater accuracy than level bombing.
The term extends to any swooping assault from above: The mockingbird kept dive-bombing our cat.
As a verb, to dive-bomb is to attack in this manner.
