shuttle run
Back-and-forth sprint
A shuttle run is a fitness test or exercise where you sprint back and forth between two points, typically touching or crossing a line at each end before reversing direction.
It measures agility, speed, and the ability to change direction quickly: We did shuttle runs in gym class.
Common in athletic training and military fitness assessments.
