Fastest Olympic event
The 100-meter dash is a sprint race covering 100 meters in a straight line—the shortest standard outdoor track event.
It determines "the fastest person in the world" at the Olympics and other competitions, where elite runners finish in under ten seconds.
Also called the 100 meters or simply the hundred.
