Half a tent
A shelter-half is one section of a two-person military tent, designed so that two soldiers each carry half and combine them to make a complete shelter.
The system distributes weight and ensures that paired soldiers can always construct cover: Each man carried a shelter-half, a blanket, and three days' rations.
