rowhomes

Shared-wall urban housing

Rowhomes are houses built in continuous rows, sharing side walls with their neighbors.

The term is regional, used mainly in Philadelphia and surrounding areas; elsewhere these are called rowhouses or townhouses.

Rowhomes typically share a uniform façade and were built as affordable urban housing: The neighborhood is lined with brick rowhomes from the 1920s.
