rope skipping
Jumping over cord
Rope skipping is the activity of jumping over a rope swung under the feet and over the head, either by the jumper or by others turning the rope.
Children do it as playground play; athletes use it for conditioning.
The term is interchangeable with jump rope, though rope skipping often appears in formal or competitive contexts: The rope skipping championship drew participants from twelve countries.
