rock slide
Cliff face collapse
A rock slide is a sudden collapse of rocks down a slope, typically from a cliff face or mountainside.
Unlike gradual erosion, rock slides happen quickly and can be catastrophic, blocking roads or burying structures: The highway was closed after a rock slide.
Also written as one word: rockslide.
