ringmail
Interlocking metal defense
Ringmail is armor made of metal rings sewn onto a fabric or leather backing, distinct from chainmail where the rings interlock with each other.
The term appears most often in fantasy games and fiction, where it typically represents lighter, less protective armor than full chainmail: The rogue wore ringmail for mobility.
