rial
Omani currency unit
A rial is the basic monetary unit of Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and several other Middle Eastern countries.
The spelling varies—riyal in Saudi Arabia, rial in Iran—but both derive from the Spanish real.
The exchange rate was thousands of rials to the dollar.
