dirham
Dubai's currency unit
A dirham is the basic monetary unit of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, and a lesser unit in several other Arab countries.
The word derives from the Greek drachma.
In historical contexts, a dirham was also a unit of weight used throughout the Islamic world: The recipe calls for two dirhams of saffron.
