revolutionary movement
Push for overthrow
A revolutionary movement is an organized effort to bring about fundamental change in a political, social, or economic system—typically through the overthrow of existing power structures rather than gradual reform.
The term applies to both violent uprisings and sustained campaigns for radical transformation: The revolutionary movement spread from the capital to the provinces.
Unlike reform movements, revolutionary movements aim to replace systems entirely rather than improve them.
