old guard
Resistant to change
The old guard are the established, traditional members of a group—often those who resist change or represent how things used to be done.
The term suggests loyalty to established methods and sometimes implies being out of step with newer approaches: The old guard still preferred paper records over digital systems.
Originally a military term for veteran soldiers.
