decedent
One who died
Decedent is a legal and formal term for a person who has died, especially one whose estate is being administered or whose death is under official consideration.
Insurance policies pay beneficiaries upon the decedent's death.
Wills distribute the decedent's property.
The decedent left no surviving relatives.
Outside legal contexts, the simpler "deceased" is more common.
