lisp
Difficulty with esses
A lisp is a speech pattern where s and z sounds come out as th sounds, so "sing" becomes "thing." The term can describe a genuine speech impediment or an affected, childish way of talking.
To lisp is to speak this way: She lisped her way through the presentation.
The word sometimes carries mocking or effeminate connotations when applied to adults. (Capitalized Lisp is the programming language.)
