echolalia
Compulsive verbal copying
Echolalia is the repetition of words or phrases spoken by others, often immediately after hearing them.
It occurs commonly in young children learning language and in certain neurological conditions, particularly autism.
A child with echolalia might echo a question back instead of answering it: Do you want juice?
