spaced repetition
Timed review intervals
Spaced repetition is a learning technique where material is reviewed at increasing intervals—first after a day, then a week, then a month.
The spacing exploits how memory works: retrieving something just before you'd forget it strengthens retention more than cramming.
I use spaced repetition software for vocabulary.
The method underlies most modern flashcard apps.
