reflectivity

Surface bounce measure

Reflectivity is the capacity to reflect light, sound, or other radiation.

Surfaces have high or low reflectivity depending on how much energy bounces back rather than being absorbed: The reflectivity of fresh snow can cause sunburn.

In technical contexts, reflectivity is measured as a ratio or percentage.

The term occasionally appears in figurative uses about self-examination, though reflexivity is more common there.
