Brillo is a brand of steel wool cleaning pad, often soap-impregnated, used for scouring pots and pans.
The name has become somewhat generic for any similar abrasive pad: Hand me that brillo under the sink.
Brillo pad is the common form.
In slang, brillo or brillo pad describes tightly curled or kinky hair—a comparison some find offensive.
