rearview camera
Reverse parking aid
A rearview camera is a small video camera mounted on the back of a vehicle, displaying what's behind on a dashboard screen to help drivers reverse safely.
Also called a backup camera.
Standard on new cars since the mid-2010s, they reduce blind spots and help avoid collisions with obstacles, pedestrians, or children: The rearview camera saved me from backing into a fire hydrant.
