wing mirrors
Automotive lateral viewers
Wing mirrors are the side-view mirrors mounted on a vehicle's exterior, typically on the doors or front fenders, allowing the driver to see traffic behind and alongside.
The term is primarily British; Americans usually say side mirrors or side-view mirrors.
The name reflects their position—projecting outward like wings from the car's body.
