automatic braking
Collision prevention system
Automatic braking is a vehicle safety system that applies the brakes without driver input to prevent or reduce the severity of a collision.
Sensors detect obstacles or slowing traffic ahead and trigger braking if the driver fails to respond: The car's automatic braking kicked in when the truck stopped suddenly.
Also called autonomous emergency braking or AEB.
