read-write

Input and output

Read-write describes the ability to both retrieve and modify data.

A read-write file can be opened, viewed, and edited, unlike a read-only file that permits only viewing.

In computing, read-write access means you can save changes: Make sure you have read-write permissions before editing the document.

Read-write memory (RAM) allows data to be written and rewritten, as opposed to read-only memory (ROM).
