Rasterized describes an image or graphic that has been converted into a grid of pixels.
Vector graphics use mathematical formulas to define shapes, but rasterized images store color values for each individual pixel.
Once rasterized, an image loses scalability—enlarging it produces visible pixelation: The logo looked fine until we rasterized it and tried to blow it up for the banner.
