framebuffer
Screen pixel storage
A framebuffer is a region of memory that stores the pixel data for a display.
Each pixel's color and brightness is held in the buffer, and the display hardware reads from it to render the image on screen.
In early computing, programs wrote directly to the framebuffer; modern systems add layers of abstraction but the concept remains fundamental to graphics rendering.
The game writes each frame to the framebuffer before it appears on your monitor.
