radiculitis
Spinal nerve swelling
Radiculitis is inflammation of a spinal nerve root, typically causing pain that radiates along the nerve's path—down an arm or leg, for instance.
The condition often results from a herniated disc or bone spur pressing on the nerve: The doctor diagnosed radiculitis as the cause of his shooting leg pain.
Sciatica is the most common form.
