walking away
Turning and going
Walking away is the act of leaving a situation, conversation, or commitment.
The literal sense is simply departing on foot: She turned and walked away without another word.
Figuratively, walking away means disengaging from something—a deal, a relationship, an argument: He walked away from the negotiation when terms soured.
To walk away from a crash or accident is to survive it without serious injury.
