bindery

Where books assemble

A bindery is a workshop or facility where books are bound—where printed pages are assembled, sewn or glued, and fitted with covers.

The term applies both to commercial operations producing books at scale and to artisan shops doing hand bookbinding: She took the damaged volume to a bindery for restoration.
