powerplants
Grid supply stations
Powerplants are facilities that generate electricity, converting energy from sources like coal, natural gas, nuclear reactions, or renewables into electrical power for distribution.
The word also refers to engines or motors that provide propulsion—an aircraft's powerplants are its engines.
Usually two words: power plant.
