photosensitize

Make light-reactive

To photosensitize is to make something sensitive to light, especially in chemistry, biology, or medicine.

Certain substances photosensitize skin, causing it to burn or react more readily to sunlight: Some antibiotics can photosensitize patients, requiring them to avoid sun exposure.

In photography and printing, materials are photosensitized to respond to light during exposure.
