deactivate
Render no longer active
Deactivate means to make something inactive or inoperative—the reverse of activate.
You deactivate an alarm, a account, or a bomb.
Military units are deactivated when disbanded.
In digital contexts, deactivating often means suspending rather than permanently deleting: I deactivated my social media for a month.
